Ole is from Bergen on the west coast of Norway and has lived in the UK since 1996. He is a multiple BAFTA and BIFA nominated DP, and has been a member of the British Society of Cinematographers since 2014.
His credits include feature films Judy (dir. Rupert Gould); American Animals (dir. Bart Layton) and In the Blink of an Eye (dir. Andrew Stanton) forthcoming in September 2025.
Ole is known for his stylised naturalism and use of colour in such films as the award-winning The Arbor (Dir. Clio Barnard) revered for its ground-breaking drama-doc approach; Listen to Me Marlon (Dir. Stevan Riley) described by Mubi as, “the definitive Marlon Brando cinema documentary” and the BIFA nominated Ten Billion (Dir. Peter Webber).
Also known for his high-end television credits – including ‘the fog’ episode of The Crown S1, (dirs. Julian Jarrold, Philip Martin); Tales from the Loop (dirs. Jodie Foster, Andrew Stanton, Tim Mielants and So Young Kim); Utopia S1, National Treasure and The Third Day (Autumn) (dir. Marc Munden). The Third Day was an extraordinary live broadcast with actor Jude Law, composed of a continuous choreographed take lasting 12hours. "Breathtaking" (The Telegraph).
Ole’s most recent narrative work is BBC new drama Love Story (dir, Philippa Lowthorpe) forthcoming in Autumn 2025.
